MECHANICAL PROCESSING ON ALUMINUM
PRECISION MECHANICAL PROCESSING ARE THE MOST REQUESTED COMPLEMENTARY TREATMENTS OF ALUMINUM
To offer to customers the opportunity to relate to a single point of contact for the furniture of semi-finished and finished products in extruded aluminium design, Ossidal has implemented a new mechanical processing department for aluminium 4.0, complementary to the historic surface treatment departments (oxidation and powder coating) and it has expanded its factory on an area of over 20.000 square meters.
Using miter saws CNC at 4 and 5 axis, with maximized automation through latest generation software, the company is able to understand the needs of any customer, obtaining finished products (with maximum working rage X, Y, Z of 7500 x 454x 360 mm), extremely precise and in a short time, even for small production batches.

CUSTOM-MADE ALUMINUM CUT
We offer a service for customized cutting of extruded based on a drawing, for semi-finished and finished products.
We use different cutting-off machines and CNC 4.0 machining centres to meet the needs of any customer.
THREAD
We offer a precise, fast and high-tech aluminium threading service. Through this treatment, the workpiece will have the so-called “thread”, a helical groove engraved on a cylindrical or conical surface, in order to create a fastening method between two or more elements (eg screws and nuts).
COUNTERBORE
A particular process is the counterbore, that is the procedure by which a fixing seat is created that does not protrude from the surface of the machined piece. Thanks to the hole created with the counterbore, the corresponding screw will perfectly match the housing surface. Counterbore differs from countersinking since the enlargement of the hole is cylindrical rather than conical. In aluminium counterbore thanks to numerical control machinery, all movements are set up through a specific software. This allows to reach high levels of precision in a very short time and a consequent reduction of production costs, given by the reduced production times
BRUSHING
Aluminium Brushing is one of the treatments that normally precede anodic oxidation (anodization) and consists of cleaning and mechanical finishing of the metal surface; it has the function of eliminating the imperfections of the product and making the surface homogeneous and suitable for subsequent treatments such as degreasing, satin finishing, polishing and anodic oxidation.
Aluminium brushing is particularly used in design sectors where the “scratched effect” is often used for indoor and outdoor furniture. In order to calibrate the finish to the customer’s needs, the aluminium brushing process requires competence, professionalism and quality materials as brushes to abrasive grains to be used in processing.
DRILLING
We offer a high-level aluminium drilling service and we are a point of reference thanks to our 40 years of experience. In our mechanical machining department we can manage various mechanical processes such as: cutting, drilling, threading, milling, countersinking, counterbore and butting, with a working range X, Y, Z of 7500 x 454 x 360 mm. The CNC drilling machine is an optimized machine for integrated planning which ensures a high level of stability and rigidity during high speed drilling
FLARING
It is the process by which a fastening seat is created that does not protrude from the surface of the machined piece. Thanks to the hole created with the countersink, the corresponding screw will fit perfectly to the housing surface.
The countersink differs from the counterbore as the enlargement of the hole is conical rather than cylindrical.
MILLING
The aluminium milling work cycle consists of two phases: the first, called roughing, allows the removal of excess material quickly and economically, the second, called finishing, intervenes in a more targeted manner to obtain a product finished that perfectly complies with the customer’s requirements. Aluminium milling can be carried out on components with a maximum useful working range X, Y, Z of 7500 x 454 x 360 mm. and, thanks to the innovative technology of CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machinery, it allows to obtain high-precision products, quickly and with an important reduction in production costs.
POLISHING
Aluminium polishing is one of the treatments that normally precede anodic oxidation (anodization) and consists in cleaning and mechanical finishing of the metal surface; it has the function of cleaning the product and making the surface shiny, giving it the so-called “mirror effect”. Aluminium polishing is particularly used in design sectors where the “glossy effect” is in great demand. In order to calibrate the finish to the customer’s needs, the aluminium polishing process requires competence, professionalism and quality materials.

WHY SHOULD YOU CHOOSE US FOR MECHANICAL PROCESSING?
Handling more than 40 tons of aluminium every day and employing 70 workers in a continuous cycle, Ossidal deals directly all processing phases, following customer from the design of the profile, to the drawing, up to the delivery of the finished product.
The use of latest generation software allows us to carry out rapid programming and therefore to be highly competitive even on small production orders.
The Plus of the company is its technical office with specialized staff analysing customers’ needs, our staff is able to create technical drawings to produce prototypes in 3D printing, follow the extrusion process, manage surface finishes (brushing, micro sand blasting, polishing, anodic oxidation, powder coating, sublimation), to prepare cutting and mechanical processing, and to assembly and packaging.
All these services allow Ossidal to prove to be a unique and reliable reference in every phase of the realization process.
In addition to carrying out all the processing phases directly, the aluminium treatments carried out by Ossidal in the related specialized sectors have obtained these certifications: UNI EN ISO 9001, Qualanod, Interpon, Qualitat and Qualicoat, in its specialized departments.
